Grounded Connections is an outdoorsy women’s friendship community currently live in the UK & Ireland. Each month we match you into a small group of 3–5 women, based on where you live, how far you’re willing to travel and the kind of adventures you enjoy – so you can make real-life outdoorsy friends, not sit in the background of noisy forums.

Once you are a member you complete a profile inside our app including how “feral” you are on our feral scale, the activities you'd like to meet people for (hikes, cold dips, camping, gentle walks, pottery workshops, foraging, etc.), your availability patterns the kind of people you'd like to meet and how far you’re happy to travel!

On the new moon each month, we use this info to match you with a curated group of 3–5 outdoorsy likeminded women for an adventure you all love!

You’ll get an intro message with your group, suggested area to meet, suggested activity for your first meet-up, maybe a walk a dip, something creative a forage, a nature based activity you all have in common!

You'll keep your group chats with past groups so you can arrange follow up meets with your groups too, so over time you'll build a whole network of new pals with copmmon interests!

Grounded Connections is for women who feel most themselves outdoors and are looking for genuine, in-person friendship.

You might have moved to a new area, be travelling or van-lifing, gone through a big life shift, or just realised that your current circle doesn’t share your love of hikes, cold swims and campfire chats. We currently match outdoorsy women all across the UK & Ireland - from remote Scottish islands and the Highlands, to the Lake District, Peak District, Snowdonia, Cornwall, cities and small villages in between.

When you join, you tell us your current location and how far you’re willing to travel. We only place you in groups where everyone is within each other’s travel radius, so meeting up is realistic!

Many of our members are in rural and remote areas, which is exactly why Grounded Connections exists. Matches in rural spots sometimes take a little more juggling and flexibility around distance and dates, but we prioritise people who haven’t been connected yet, and we only match when there’s genuine alignment.

We connect more than 90% of our members every month, however, if we can’t connect you in a given month, then your next month is automatically on us and you’re bumped up the priority list for the next matching cycle!

Yes, Grounded Connections welcomes trans women.

Grounded Connections functions almost like a dating app, you set your location, which you can change at any time, and the radius you’re happy to travel for your meet ups. Then each month we curate a group for you based on shared interests, intentions etc but also we provide your group with a suggested meet point, this meet point is always within your travel radius.

If for any reason we are unable to connect you with a group in any given month, (which is very rare, we connect around 95-97% of our members each month) then your next month is on us, no need to ask we pay it forward automatically!

Currently Grounded Connections is live across the UK & Ireland however as we have had huge demand overseas we have opened up a waitlist for all other countries with a threshold number for each.

Once we hit the threshold number on the waitlist for each country we will launch there!
